| Marcell Coetzee, who can play anywhere in the back row, was one of the finds of the 2012 season and underlined his massive potential by playing a role in each of the 12 Tests during that season. This versatile loose forward was schooled in KwaZulu-Natal and after some impressive performances for The Sharks in the Absa Currie Cup in 2011, the young Coetzee was highly sought after by a number of other unions in South Africa. He decided to remain in Durban, excelled in Vodacom Super Rugby for The Sharks as they went all the way to the Final, and was duly selected for the Springboks.
