Arno Botha captained the South African Under-20 team at the Junior World Championship in Italy in 2011 and was also named the SA Under-20 Player of the Year. He is a very quick and abrasive loose forward with a superb skill set and got his first taste of Springbok rugby in June, when he trained with the squad for three weeks as one of six promising youngsters invited by the national selectors. In October 2012 he was called up as injury replacement into the squad and in June 2013 he finally made his Test debut for South Africa, against Italy in Durban.
