| Despite still being very young for a tight forward, Frans Malherbe has already made experts take note with some good displays at Vodacom Super Rugby and Absa Currie Cup level for the Stormers and Western Province respectively. A former SA Schools representative with strong leadership qualities, Malherbe was one of six promising young players that trained with the Boks in June, and a few months later he was called up to the proper squad as a replacement, but has not played Test rugby yet.
