Pieter Labuschagne, or "Lappies" as he is also known, was one of the finds of the 2011 season and was rewarded with a call-up to the Toyota Cheetahs’ team for the 2012 season. He excelled in the Absa Currie Cup 2011 playing in all of the 15 games in the competition, scoring six tries. His high scoring try tally is testament to his strike power as a ball carrier, while he also adds value as a line-out option for his team. He can also play on the ground and is one of the most exciting young loose forwards in South Africa.
