Championship, playing as a flanker against Italy and switching to Number 8 for the France match, also at Twickenham. He had been an England Saxons’ newcomer off the bench against Italy A eight days prior to his Test debut. Before joining Orrell in October 2001, he had spent a year in South Africa playing for the Villagers club and then switched to Harlequins in August 2004, making his first appearance in the Zurich A League win over Saracens that September. His previous exploits included a try hat trick in the 55-44 extra-time defeat by Northampton Saints in the Powergen Cup at Edge Hall Road in December 2002.
He was Harlequins’ player of the year in 2005 and 2006, scored 19 tries two seasons ago to help his club to regain Guinness Premiership status and was a tryscorer in the 39-23 Powergen National Trophy final win over Bedford at
Twickenham. Previously played for Rosslyn Park and, in January, signed a contract extension with Harlequins until 2009. |
