Warren Whiteley started his career with the Sharks and EP Kings before settling in Johannesburg, where he soon became a stand-out player for the Lions. Whiteley’s wide array of skills, in particular his ball-distribution and support play, soon had the Springbok Sevens team knocking and he was part of the Commonwealth Games gold medal winning team in 2014. Whiteley had a stand-out Vodacom Super Rugby season in 2014, leading the Lions to a best ever finish and heading the overall tackle stats in the tournament, which saw him being called up to the Springbok squad and making his Test debut against Australia in Perth.
