| Bjorn Basson, who holds the record for the most tries in a single Absa Currie Cup season with 21 (set in 2010 in the colours of GWK Griquas), was the joint top try scorer in Vodacom Super Rugby in 2012 with 10. Basson made his Test debut from the bench against Wales in Cardiff in June 2010, but missed the entire Castle Rugby Championship in 2012 through an unfortunate injury he sustained in the Bulls’ Vodacom Super Rugby Qualifier in July. Since his return, he has been a star for the team from Pretoria in the Absa Currie Cup. Basson is very quick, unpredictable and brilliant under the high ball.
