Heinrich Brüssow first played for the Springboks during the Castle South Africa 2009 Lions Series, making a massive impact as a specialist openside flank with a propensity of stealing or slowing down opposition ball at the breakdown. He was a central figure for the Boks at the 2011 Rugby World Cup and apart from his ball pilfering skills, he is also a good ball carrier and very effective defender. Due to injuries, he missed most of the 2012 season.
