Alistair Hargreaves made his Test debut against Wales in Cardiff in June, but played most of his career in the shadow of the great Victor Matfield. A former SA Under-19 and Under-21 captain, he played for the Bok dirt-trackers against Leicester and Saracens during the 2009 tour to the United Kingdom and made a few more Test appearances in 2011 before heading overseas from the Sharks.
