PLAYER WRITE-UP
Brumbies 2003 In his second Super 12 season with the ACT Brumbies, David Fitter will be looking to establish himself as a starting player in 2003. Playing tight head with Sydney University in Premier Rugby in 2002, Fitter showed the benefits of his full time training with the Brumbies by assisting his side into the Sydney Grand Final. Originally from Melbourne where he attended Scotch College, (the same school that produced Wallaby and Brumbies legend Ewen McKenzie), Fitter started his representative career with Victorian age teams. He went on to represent the Senior state team in 1997 and 1998, and the Australian Universities in 2000 before winning a Brumbies contract for 2002. An exceptionally good performer during the Brumbies pre-season and their camp in Thredbo last year, Fitter is mid way through an Economics degree at RMIT and is planning to work in financial markets after football. Brumbies 2005 Fitter will be looking to bounce back after missing the entire 2004 season with a broken foot, suffered in a pre-season trial match. A specialist tighthead prop who was touted as the most likely replacement for retiring Wallaby Ben Darwin during his debut season of 2003, his immense strength makes his a powerful figure at the set-piece. Fitter faces a difficult challenge to force his way back in to the match-day squad after strong seasons by Nic Henderson and Guy Shepherdson in his absence last season.
