Andrew Roger Henderson scored his second try for Scotland in the 65-12 win against the United States on the 2002 summer tour of North America. In September 2001 he had made a try-scoring debut for Scotland when he claimed the fourth touchdown following his introduction as a second-half replacement in the 32-10 win against Ireland. He enjoyed his first start in the February 2002 victory against Italy but could not find a place in the starting XV after defeat in Dublin. Then he was enlisted for the A team for their game against Wales A and he's been on A duty already in season 2002-03 in the victories over Romania and Fiji, the draw against Ireland A and the losses to France, England and Italy. He scored the Scots' only try in their match against the Italians. A former pupil of Lenzie Academy, he was a member of the Scotland U21 squad who took part in the Southern Hemisphere Alliance tournament in NZ in June 2000. Previously he has represented the winning Scottish Districts U21 team v New Zealand Youth in November 1999 en route to making nine appearances for the Scotland under-21 team. He helped the Scottish Students to third place in the Students' World Cup in Italy in August 2000 and played for the Scotland XVs in the non-cap matches against the Barbarians at Murrayfield in 2001 and 2002.
