BEN HINSHELWOOD (Worcester). Centre/full back. Born 22.3.77 in Melbourne, Australia. 6ft 3in, 15st 7lbs. Benjamin Gerald Hinshelwood is the son of the former London Scottish and 21-times capped Scotland winger Sandy Hinshelwood. He followed in his father’s footsteps when he won a cap, as a substitute, in the defeat by Canada on Scotland’s 2002 North American tour during which he played in four matches. This season he has added to his honours, having been introduced in the second-half of the win against Romania. He studied commerce at Sydney University and first came to the UK through his work with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He is in his third season in English rugby, the first having been with Bedford from where he moved to Worcester in 2001. He has also represented the Scottish Exiles scoring two tries in their 54-21 victory against Edinburgh in the 2001-2002 Inter District Championship.
