Serious injury problems meant tall and athletic Andries Bekker missed out on the Rugby World Cup in 2011 as well as large chunks of 2012, but he still played a few Tests to show why he is regarded as one of the top locks in world rugby. Bekker, the son of former Springbok lock Hennie Bekker, is very athletic for a big fellow and is also regarded as one of the leaders in the squad. Interestingly enough, he is the tallest person ever to represent the Springboks.
