PLAYER WRITE-UP
The original "Pocket Rocket", Brent Russell played for the Springbok Sevens team a few months before making his Test debut for South Africa. He was very elusive with ball in hand and had a great side-step, which helped him score heaps of tries at all levels of the game. Interestingly, Russell became a Springbok while still playing for the unfancied Pumas in Mpumalanga after he impressed during a trials match in 2002.
