A former star at U21 level, Jacques Cronje first played for the Springboks under Jake White in 2004 - his national coach at junior level. As a versatile loose forward, Cronje played many seasons for the Bulls in Pretoria before moving across the Jukskei river to play for the Golden Lions. He was very good with ball in hand and a strong defender. His brother Geo also played for the Springboks.
