Combative and abrasive in his playing days, Ricky Januarie retired from Test rugby shortly before the RWC 2011 and moved to France, where he joined club side Lyon. The nuggety scrumhalf wrote himself into Springbok lore when he scored the match-winning try in Dunedin in July 2008 to give the Springboks their first-ever win at the House of Pain and the first over the All Blacks in New Zealand in a decade.
