PLAYER WRITE-UP
Danie Rossouw, who celebrated his 50th Test cap for the Springboks in 2010, is possibly one of the most versatile forwards ever to emerge from South Africa. He is strong in the tackle, carries the ball with purpose and is also effective as a lineout option. Rossouw can play lock, flank or No 8. At the end of 2011, when he played the last of his 63 Tests, he and Bakkies Botha were the only players who have winners’ medals from the Rugby World Cup, Castle Tri-Nations, Castle South Africa 2009 Lions Series, Vodacom Super Rugby, Absa Currie Cup and Vodacom Cup. Danie played in three Rugby World Cup tournaments. He holds the Springbok record for most tries in RWC tournaments by a forward (6).
