One of the most destructive tacklers in the midfield to play for South Africa in the professional era, De Wet Barry made a name for himself as one of the best defenders ever in the Springbok jersey. But his game was about more than only tackling and Barry could hit gaps and put his outside backs away when necessary. He played 39 Tests for South Africa in a career spanning seven seasons.
