A no-nonsense loose forward, Wikus van Heerden was never flashy but rather a grinder who did the dirty work. Van Heerden also played for the Bulls when they won their first-ever Vodacom Super Rugby title in 2007. His father, Moaner van Heerden, also played for the Springboks.
