Durand plays as a back row for Champagnat Club. He was a member of the U19 and U21 junior representative teams.
He was appointed captain of his team in the 1997 Southern Hemisphere Tournament, and made his debut for the Pumas in a match against Chile that same year.
An injury kept him away from the playing fields during the 1999 season and prevented him from joining the Argentine team that participated in the World Cup held in Wales. In spite of his youth, he has acquired considerable experience from several tours with the Argentine team.
He is a strong tackler and a brave defender, two assets that have made him a valuable figure when setting up the back row of any team. Aside from being a great defender, he is particularly skillful at breaking the advantage line whenever the ball is in his hands. |
