Robin Currie McBryde had to return home early from the Lions tour of Australia in 2001 with a leg injury, his Lions selection coming seven years after first representing his country. A key figure for Wales A before returning to the senior side in 2000, he won his first cap against Fiji on the 1994 South Aseas Tour while playing for Swansea. Captained Llanelli to Welsh Cup final glory in 1998 and the Welsh Championship title in 1999. He has remained at the heart of the Llanelli pack after joining them following spells with Bangor, Menai Bridge and Swansea. Once won a competition to find Wales' strongest man. International record: 16 caps (W8,L7, D1) 1994: Fiji, SA(rep). 1997: US. 2000: Ireland (rep). 2001: England, Scotland, France, Italy, Romania, Ireland, Argentina, Tonga, Australia. 2002: Ireland, France, Italy.
