At one stage during his career, Jaco van der Westhuyzen shared the record for the most consecutive Tests at flyhalf with Bennie Osler and Naas Botha (17). This record has since been bettered, but it showed the faith in Van der Westhuyzen's abilities at No 10. A member of the RWC squad in 2003, he was a versatile back who also played at lot at fullback, who also excelled playing club rugby for Leicester in England and NEC in Japan.
