| Patrick is one of the many rising stars of South African rugby. He excelled at schoolboy level, already representing South Africa at both schools, Under 19 and Under 21 level in the Southern Hemisphere Championship.
He is inventive in attack with blinding speed and reliable in defence . He played for the South African Barbarian Sevens in the Air France Sevens in Paris in 1994.
