As the most-capped Springbok back of all time (at the time of his retirement from Test rugby in 2008), Percy Montgomery held numerous Springbok records. These included the most Test points ever for South Africa (893), the most Tests as a fullback (87), the most tries in Tests as a fullback (18), the most conversions in Tests (153) and the most penalty goals in Tests (148). He was also the top points scorer at the Rugby World Cup in 2007, with 105 points during the tournament.
