| Kok made an impressive start to the 2001 Super 12 against the Stormers, but had to watch the rest of the tournament from the sidelines after injuring his groin.
The former flanker has grown into a top-class front row and has earned himself another Super 12 berth with strong performances for the Lions in last year’s Currie Cup.
Kok began his senior rugby for Border for whom he appeared against the British Lions in 1997 and only left the Bulldogs for the Lions in 2001.
Educated at Overberg High School and Stellenbosch University, he could well play himself into national contention in the Super 12.
