A versatile inside back who was equally at home at inside centre or flyhalf, Hennie le Roux was part of the Springbok squad that won the RWC in 1995. His distribution skills and defence were superb, but Le Roux also had a very handy kicking boot. He played more than 50 matches for South Africa, which included 27 Tests, many of them next to his provincial team-mate Japie Mulder.
