Joost van der Westhuizen will be remembered as one of the greatest Springboks of all time, having held the SA Test try-scoring record for years despite playing scrumhalf. He was very quick, always knew where the gaps were and could create something out of nothing. Van der Westhuizen captained the Boks in 10 of his 89 Tests and played in three RWC tournaments, including the victorious campaign in 1995. He played a total of 111 matches for South Africa - the third most ever behind Victor Matfield and John Smit (at the end of 2012).
