SA U20 Women looking for improved performances
July 19, 2011
The SA U20 Women team will be looking for a marked improved performance when they play their next of the Under-20 Nations Cup in Canada against a powerful England side on Thursday.

The young South Africans have found the going tough in Canada, where they lost their opening encounter 27-7 against the hosts, and then against the United States (25-3).

In the first match, the team found it difficult to match the intensity of the home side, committing far too many unforced errors and repeated offences. The second match against the USA saw a huge improvement in discipline and application of the law, but the team was not able to match the much more physical USA in the close exchanges.

Two more matches remain – a round-robin against England (Thursday) and then a play-off between the loser of the Canada against USA encounter (Saturday).
