Stuart Berry, one of South Africa's top referees, was involved in a head-on collision on his way to Durban Airport and was taken to hospital.
He was on his way to catch a flight to George for the first Division Currie Cup match between South Western Districts and the Valke at Outeniqua Park. Joey Salmans will now be in charge of that match.
In the accident Berry suffered a broken arm (in two places) and lacerations. He was taken to Umhlanga Hospital where he will stay overnight for observation.
