Kings to contest both finals
October 08, 2012
The Absa Under-21 and Under-19 B-Division Provincial Championships will on Saturday see both EP Kings teams contesting the finals of the competition, to be held in the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

In the first match, the Absa Under-19 B-division final with a 10h00 kick-off, will see the home side take on their northern franchise partner, the Border Bulldogs. The Kings qualified for the final by beating GWK Griquas 27-16 on Friday. Border made it into the final thanks to a 34-12 win over the Valke in East London on Saturday.

The Absa Under-21 B-Division final will be between the Kings and their other franchise partner, SWD Eagles. The home side made it to the big stage courtesy of a 67-5 win over GWK Griquas, whilst the Eagles dominated the Ford Pumas 61-13 in George. Kick-off is at 12h00.

For the Eagles, captain and flanker JJ du Toit scored twice, as did hooker Wayne Khan. Chris Willemse converted six of their eight tries and kicked three penalties for a personal tally of 21 points.

In their match, the Kings scored ten tries to one against Griquas, who never got going and were 34-5 down at the break already.

The Kings have three players, Kayle van Zyl, Scott van Breda and Yamkela Ngam, amongst the top try-scorers in the competition, with each dotting down six times this season.
