Blue Bulls, Leopards lead in Under-19 competition
July 23, 2012
The Vodacom Blue Bulls and Leopards are undefeated after two rounds of the Absa Under-19 championships with good wins over the MTN Golden Lions and SWD Eagles respectively. KZN also started their season with a win over Toyota Free State.

In Pretoria, Vodacom Blue Bulls midfielder Dries Swanepoel scored a brace against the Golden Lions, who lost their second match in succession, on his side’s way to a comfortable 39-15 win. The Blue Bulls outscored the visitors by five tries to three, with the accurate boot of fullback Jacques Rossouw contributing 14 points.

The Leopards also got a bonus point in Potchefstroom and kept the visiting side scoreless in winning 32-0. The Eagles have now conceded 122 points in two matches without scoring a point themselves, so will clearly have to up their effort.

In Durban, the home side easily saw off the Free State challenge.

They scored six tries on route to a 38-16 win, thanks to a strong second half effort. Things were still tight at the break, with KZN only leading 12-6, but they opened up in the second half to run away with the match.
