SA Students Sevens face Belgium in semi-finals
July 12, 2012
The South African Students Sevens team will face Belgium in the semi-finals of the World University Championships in Brive, France on Friday.

The South Africans were in dominant form on day two of the competition and must be seen as a very strong medal contender for the finals to be played on Friday.

A runaway 72-0 win over Mexico in their final Pool D match secured a quarter-finals spot in which Portugal were brushed aside in a 56-7 win.

Should South Africa beat Belgium, they will face either France or Great Britain in the final

South Africa's results:

Day one 11 July – beat Italy 26-5, lost Great Britain 26-14, beat Malaysia 45-19 (all pool B)

Day two 12 July – beat Mexico 72-0 (pool B), beat Portugal 56-7 (quarter-finals)
