Bulls U21s to face Free State again, KZN take on WP
October 15, 2012
The Vodacom Blue Bulls secured top spot in the Absa Under-21 Provincial Championship last week already, but did not let down on their efforts in Bloemfontein at the weekend, beating the Toyota Free State 31-24 in the final league match of the competition.

The home-side did get a bonus point out of the match though and that pushed them past the MTN Golden Lions and Leopards into fourth spot on the final log. Their reward is a return match with the Pretoria side at Loftus Versfeld at 17h00 on Saturday.

The other semi-final will be contested in Durban on Saturday, where KwaZulu-Natal will host DHL Western Province at Mr Prince Kings Park. The KZN side secured second place by beating the Leopards 44-21 in Durban at the weekend and got the bonus point to push them clear of WP, who in turn, smashed Border 71-17 in East London.

WP right wing Clearance Khumalo scored no less than four tries in this one-sided match and kicked a conversion for good measure as well. JP van Wyk scored a brace.

•The EP Kings are the B-Division champions of 2012 after beating SWD Eagles 24-10 in Port Elizabeth on Saturday. The home side scored two early tries through Shaun Gates and Scott van Breda, with the latter also converting both and kicking a penalty to give them a 17-0 before SWD could respond.

The visitors left themselves too much to do though and could not cut back the deficit, despite a try by Daniel Roberts and a conversion and penalty by Chris Willemse. The Kings now play the Border Bulldogs in a promotion/relegation match on Friday. The match takes place at the Buffalo City Stadium in East London at 17h00.
