Your Question: What state are the Coaches of the Junior side finding the are receiving players from school? And the areas they feel can be greatly improved upon before receiving them as Junior Boks? From Troy Lee
DAWIE ANSWERS: Most players have Coca-Cola Craven Week experience and or experience at Absa Currie Cup age-group level or have played either Varsity Cup and Vodacom Cup. SARU also have various programmes such as the Junior High Performance programmes and the national selectors do a good job to identify talent with the SA Schools selectors.
Your Question: Do you know yet whether the likes of Pollard, Serfontein and Sergeal Petersen will be available to you for the defence of your title? If not, which subs have you lined up? From Jacques
DAWIE ANSWERS: Hi Jacques, the three all qualify for selection and it would be foolish not to consider them. I really don’t want to speculate on selections because that is unfair to the particular players.
Your Question: Dawie, baie sterkte met julle toer. From Alfonso
Your Question: Hi there, you must be very happy to see how some of your former players perform this year. What do you think is the best position for Pieter-Steph du Toit at the Sharks? He looks to be a very good lock, but maybe flank too? From Richard
DAWIE ANSWERS: Hi Richard, Pieter-Steph has a lot of potential and in my view all the right attributes to succeed at lock, his current position. I don’t want to speculate on his other positions for him, but he is a promising rugby player with a lot going for him at the moment.
Your Question: Could you please tell us about the IRB tournament in France, who do we play and who will be our opponents and who will we need to beat to make the finals? Thanks Dawie From Joel.
Dear Joel, the JWC tournament in France takes place from 5 – 23 June. We are in Pool A with France, England and USA. At the end of the pool phase the teams will be seeded on the position in which they finished in their respective pools, for the knockout stages. There are three pools. The three pool winners and the best placed second team all qualify for the semi-finals.
