EP Kings win again
August 11, 2012
The Eastern Province Kings remained undefeated in the ABSA Currie Cup First Division with a 20-12 win over the Leopards on Friday night, but will be first to admit that it wasn’t pretty.

They showed poor discipline at times and kicked aimlessly at times and it almost cost them the match, played in front of a small crowd at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The 6-all scoreline at the break is indicative of the standard of play in the first 40 minutes.

A yellow card to prop Clint Newland four minutes into the second half seemed to finally spark the home team into action.

Winger Paul Perez, who was lively all night, deserved his effort.

The visitors had a strong showing in the loose and managed effectively to slow the Kings’ ball down.

Points: EP Kings 20 (6): Try: Paul Perez. Penalties: George Whitehead (3), Wesley Dunlop (2).
Leopards 12 (6): Penalties: Andre Pretorius (4).
