Griquas give Grant pivot role in debut

Former Maties and Ikeys flyhalf Dean Grant will make his Currie Cup debut against Steval Pumas in the Mbombela Stadium (SuperSport 1) on Friday. Grant will start at flyhalf with regular pivot Francois Brummer moving to fullback.

Coach Hawies Fourie included a fit again Martin Bezuidenhout and Jonathan Adendorff and also boosted his midfield by including Jonathan Francke alongside Wayne Stevens, the captain of the side.

Flanker Ruaan Lerm will also make his debut for the visitors as will bench players Doppies la Grange and Neil Marais.

Francois Brummer; Ederies Arendse, Jonathan Francke, Wayne Stevens (c), Rocco Jansen; Dean Grant, Tian Meyer; Carel Greeff, Ruaan Lerm, Marnus Schoeman, Jaco Nepgen, Jonathan Adendorf, Kop van der Westhuizen, Martin Bezuidenhout, Steph Roberts. Replacements: Ryno Barnes, Maks van Dyk, Hugo Kloppers, RJ Liebenberg, Abrie Griesel, Doppies la Grange, Neil Marais.
