Toyota Free State coach Naka Drotskè picked Junior Boks flyer Raymond Rhule on the wing for his side’s Absa Currie Cup opener against defending champions, the MTN Golden Lions, on Saturday.
Rhule has been a revelation in 2012 and was one of the stand-out players for the Junior Boks in their IRB Junior World Championship triumph earlier this year.
He has played very well for the Free State Under-21 side in recent weeks as well, prompting Drotskè to pick him on the left wing.
Stalwart Robert Ebersohn will captain the side, which see six changes from the team that played the Cardiff Blues in a warm-up match last weekend.
Former Springbok Sevens ace Boom Prinsloo will take over the number six jersey from injured Springbok, Heinrich Brüssow.
Drotskè will name his bench later in the week.
The Toyota Free State Cheetahs starting XV team is: Hennie Daniller, Nico Scheepers, Robert Ebersohn (c), Andries Strauss, Raymond Rhule, Riaan Smit, Pieter van Zyl, Davon Raubenheimer, Lappies Labuschagné, Boom Prinsloo, Izak van der Westhuizen (v/c), Waltie Vermeulen, Marcel van der Merwe, Hercu Liebenberg, Trevor Nyakane.
