The Springbok Sevens resumed training this week at their base in Stellenbosch in preparation for the last two tournaments of the HSBC Sevens World Series in Scotland and England. The team took a well-deserved break after their triumph in Tokyo last month.
The remaining two World Series events are the Glasgow Sevens on 4-5 May and the London Sevens at Twickenham on 11-12 May. Frankie Horne and his team mates are currently second on the Series log with two tournaments under their belt and the team will be aiming to end the season on a high in the United Kingdom. Team announcement is next Wednesday.
Meanwhile the SA Women’s Sevens team are in Tunisia at the moment where they are taking part in a preparation camp for the forthcoming Sevens Rugby World Cup in Russia in June. Before that, however, the team coached by Denver Wannies will be in action during the Amsterdam Sevens.
With just a month to go until the Women's Sevens World Series in Amsterdam, the IRB has announced the pools and schedule for the fourth and final leg of the tournament which is scheduled for 17-18 May.
England's women, who now lie second in the standings, will face a tough challenge when they face Canada, South Africa (joint 7th) and France in Pool B.
